2 injured after boat runs ashore in Carteret County, Atlantic Beach Police Department says

THANK YOU. DYLAN. TIME NOW IS 803, AND IN DAVIE COUNTY, A MAN IS IN CUSTODY AFTER BEING ACCUSED OF A FATAL STABBING. 32 YEAR-OLD DANNY CARTER IS CHARGED WITH MURDER. DEPUTIES SAY THEY WERE CALLED TO A HOME ON GWYNN STREET IN MOCKSVILLE JUST BEFORE MIDNIGHT ON FRIDAY. THEY FOUND 62 YEAR-OLD MARK DUKES DEAD IN THE HOME AFTER BEING STABBED SEVERAL TIMES. CARTER AND DUKES ARE BELIEVED TO HAVE KNOWN EACH OTHER, AND A MAN IS DEAD AFTER A CAR HIT HIM ON I-40 IN GREENSBORO. IT HAPPENED JUST BEFORE TEN FRIDAY NIGHT NEAR EAST LEE STREET EXIT. POLICE SAY THE VICTIM, WHO WAS FROM BURLINGTON, TRIED TO CROSS THE EASTBOUND LANES WHEN HE WAS HIT. ANOTHER CAR CRASHED WHILE TRYING TO AVOID THE COLLISION. THE VICTIM HAS NOT BEEN IDENTIFIED YET. AND IN ASHEBORO, POLICE ARE WORKING TO FIND A MAN THEY SAY CHASED TWO GIRLS HOME AND THEN TRIED TO BREAK IN. IT HAPPENED ON ENGLISH STREET JUST BEFORE 630 FRIDAY MORNING. ACCORDING TO INVESTIGATORS, THE GIRLS WERE OUTSIDE WALKING WHEN A MAN RIDING IN HIS CAR STARTED TO SPEAK TO THEM. THE GIRLS LEFT WHEN THEY SAW A GUN INSIDE OF THE CAR. POLICE SAY THE MAN CHASED THE GIRLS TO A FAMILY MEMBER’S HOME NEARBY. WHEN THE MAN COULDN’T OPEN THE DOOR, HE LEFT THE SUSPECT IS DESCRIBED AS A MAN WITH SHORT HAIR, WEARING A BLACK T SHIRT WITH A DESIGN ON IT AND BLACK SHORTS. THE CAR WAS DESCRIBED AS EITHER EITHER A WHITE, TAN OR CREAM COLORED TINTED WINDOWS, POSSIBLY A HONDA OR A TOYOTA. IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION, YOU’RE ASKED TO CALL THE ASHEBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT OR RANDOLPH COUNTY CRIME STOPPERS. AND IN BURKE COUNTY. A DEATH INVESTIGATION IS UNDERWAY AFTER A MAN WAS FOUND DEAD IN A LAKE. DEPUTIES WERE CALLED TO LAKE JAMES STATE PARK FRIDAY NIGHT AFTER VISITORS FOUND A PERSON FLOATING IN THE WATER. HE WAS IDENTIFIED AS 76 YEAR OLD PRESLEY JAMES. THE CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION DIVISION WAS CALLED OUT TO THE SCENE AND IT IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION. IN A WARNING, IF YOU’RE HEADED TO THE CAROLINA COAST, THERE’S A HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS THIS WEEKEND AND SOME EMERGENCY CREWS ARE USING NEW TECHNOLOGY TO KEEP PEOPLE SAFE AND BRUNSWICK COUNTY. TWO TEENS ON PADDLE BOARDS WERE NEARLY 2000FT AWAY FROM SHORE OFF OF OAK ISLAND. THE STRONG WINDS AND CURRENTS KEPT THEM FROM PADDLING BACK. CREWS USED DRONES TO LET THE KIDS KNOW THAT HELP WAS ON THE WAY. THE TOWN SAYS THAT THE TWO MADE IT BACK SA
