A minor can be a great way to pursue an interdisciplinary or area-specific course of study. You can develop skills outside your major, investigate potential career paths or simply indulge a personal interest. Minors consist of 18 to 24 units of upper-division coursework.

Our university offers more than 100 majors, summer programs, undergraduate research and academic support systems.

A minor in music teaches you to explore and understand the history, theory and performance of music.

The accounting minor courses are open to all undergraduate and graduate majors at UC Davis. The five courses required for the accounting minor are offered by the Graduate School of Management. No substitutions (e.g., transfer courses, study abroad courses, or other UC Davis courses) are allowed.

A student's minor does not usually appear on their diploma. Instead, the diploma lists the major and the date the graduate earned their degree. That said, college transcripts do list minors.

You must earn at least a 2.40 GPA in your UC-transferable classes to meet UC requirements; California non-residents must earn at least a 2.80 GPA. However, UC Davis requires a minimum 2.80 GPA to be selected for admission, and many of our most popular programs may require a higher GPA.
