A three-vehicle crash killed two people Sunday morning on NC 58 near Old Church Road in Carteret County. Troopers responded around 10:30 a.m. to the area and found the crash happened when Steven Robert Shelton, 48, of Ayden, tried to pass a vehicle while heading north on NC 58.
