WARREN Mary Emma (Tam) Huffman, 90, passed away at 5:05 a.m., on Thursday, August 23, 2012 in Heritage Pointe in Warren, Indiana. She was born on Monday, August 29, 1921, in Warren, Indiana, the daughter of the late Merritt Tam and the late Helen (Bonifield) Tam. Mary Emma graduated from the Warren High School, class of 1939. She was a Tri Kappa member. She owned the M's Shoe Spoon in Warren and worked at her father's drug store (Tams Rexall drug store) in Warren.

Mary Emma belonged to the Chautauqua Club. She was a lifelong Warren resident and was a member of the Warren United Methodist Church. Survivors include daughter, Christine (John) Wearly, Daleville; sons, Phillip (Donna) Huffman, Lafayette, James (Gloria) Huffman, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Paul Huffman, C1- ermont, Florida; daughter, Nannette Huffman, Wildwood, Illinois; five granddaughters, Mindy McKee, Molly O'Halloran, Emily Schwartz, Angela Kraster, Rebecca Boyd; two grandsons, Jonathan Wearly, Nathan Huffman; and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Irene (Bonifield) Tam; father, Merritt W. Tam; grandsonJames "Jamie" Huffman; two brothers, Robert Tam, Roger Tam; two sisters, Aug.

19, 1926 Aug. 23, 2012 CONVERSE Janet Eileen Sowash, 85, passed away on August 23, 2012 in Wesleyan Health and Rehabilitation Center, Marion. Mrs. Sowash was born in Elwood on November 19, 1926 to the late Carl and Alta (Shook) Retherford. Mrs.

Sowash was a 1945 graduate of Windfall High School. On January 3, 1947 she married Harry Burton Sowash. He preceded her in death on July 6, 2001. Mr. and Mrs.

Sowash were farmers and also owned Sowash Racing Stable until their retirement. She was a member 'of Windfall Christian Church, Pythian Sisters and USTA. Mrs. Sowash is survived by her four children, Trudy Ann Sowash, Palmyra, Indiana; twins, Jeanne (Robert) Black, Marion and Joanne (Thom) Young, Campbell Hall, New York; Julie A. (Gary) Green, Converse; one brother, Rex Retherford, Safety Harbor, Florida; eight grandchildren, Bill J.

Wednesday, August 22, 2012 in her home with her family at her side. She was born December 13, 1952 in Kokomo, the daughter of Alfred Poe and Mary (Warner) Mitchell. On December 11, 1987 in Kokomo, she married Keith A. Eltzroth, who survives. Linda was a 1972 graduate of Haworth High School.

She worked at Target for 20 years in customer service and also at Kings Crown Inn as a bartender. She enjoyed art, gardening, keeping house, going to the tanning bed and her dog, William. She frequently donated to churches, charities and to the mission every holiday. Linda is survived by her husband, Keith, Kokomo; son, Matthew T. Hoover, Russiaville; granddaughter, Aidyn Sue McKoon; mother, Mary Mitchell and husband Jim, Missouri; two sisters, Sandy Bryan, Florida, Jenny (Michael) Cooper, Kansas; one brother, Mike (Bridget) McNally, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews, Tammy Sharp, Dawn Marner, Jeff Marner, Lane Cooper, Lance Cooper, Karissa Mulinex, Kimberly Bryan, Jimmy Furnish; mother-in-law, Suzanne Sherman, Kokomo; sisterin-law, Julie (Jeff) Vossler, Converse; brother-in-law, Mike Miller and Beth, Indianapolis, step-son, O'Retta Jean Eric Eltzroth, Huntington; step-daughter, Courtney Henderson, Swayzee; stepgrandchildren, Braden and Brianna Henderson.
