Brian K. Pulliman of Raleigh, N.C., formerly of Kennett

Brian K. Pulliman, 27, of Raleigh, N.C., formerly of Kennett Square died unexpectedly on Feb. 12, 2009 at his home. Brian was born in West Chester on Oct. 15, 1981.

He is survived by his parents, Keelan W. and Diana M. Pulliman of 8519 Rosedale Drive, Oak Ridge, NC 27310; and sister, Melissa L. Pulliman of 20004 Grier, Chapel Hill, NC 27517.

Brian attended the Chadds Ford schools and graduated from Unionville High School, class of 2000. Brian attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and graduated from East Carolina University with a bachelor of science degree in hospitality management. Brian was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity at IUP and ECU.

After graduation, Brian worked for the Marriott Corporation in Raleigh, N.C. At his death, he was employed at Syngenta BioTechnology Inc.

Brian is buried at Raleigh Memorial Gardens, Raleigh, N.C. He is missed very much by his family, college and high school friends, the people he worked with at Marriott and Syngenta and especially his beach families. Brian was always the life of the party and a livid Pirate fan ECU at events.

Hazel K. Hassett of Jenner’s Pond

Hazel K. Hassett, 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009 at home in Jenner’s Pond Retirement Community.

She was born April 22, 1918 in Hudson Falls, N.Y., to the late Coridon and Eva Mae Fisher Keech.

She married Dec. 29, 1939 in Hudson Falls, N.Y. and was the wife to the late Robert James Hassett.

She was a member of West Grove United Methodist Church, West Grove.

She is survived by her children, Janet Kane and husband Bob, of Kennett Square, Gary Hassett and wife, Virginia of Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Neil Hassett and wife, Roxanne of Glastonbury, Conn.; two sisters, Dorothy Schweinforth of Quarryville and Beverly Lyons of Oregon; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Life celebration services will be held on Monday, Oct. 19, 2009 at 11 a.m., with a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. at West Grove United Methodist Church, 300 N. Guernsey Road, West Grove, PA 19390.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Neighborhood Hospice, 795 E. Marshall St., West Chester, PA 19380.

Marie Mathews Schussler of West Grove

Marie Mathews Schussler, 91, of West Grove, formerly of Media and Kentmore Park, Md. passed away on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at Jenner’s Pond Retirement Community in West Grove.

She was the wife of the late Forrest R. Schussler, who passed away in 1997, and with whom she shared 49 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Bertrum and Mame Sholl Mathews.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed boating, the water and she was an accomplished artist, specializing in water colors.

She is survived by one brother, Edward W. Mathews Sr. of Palmyra; her nephew and caregiver, Edward W. Mathews Jr. and his wife, Barbara and their children Edward, III and Brittany of Lincoln University; and several other nieces, great-nieces and nephews; and many close friends.

You are invited to attend her graveside service at 11 a.m. on Thursday morning, Oct. 22, at Edgewood Memorial Park, 325 Baltimore Pike, Glen Mills, PA 19342.

John Edward McGlinchey III of Lincoln University

John Edward McGlinchey III, 19, of Lincoln University died suddenly at his residence, on Friday, Oct. 16, 2009.

Born in Delaware County, he was the son of John E. Jr. and Marsha Feingold McGlinchey.

John was a graduate of Avon Grove High School and was currently a student at Howard County Community College in Columbia, Md., where he was a member of the lacrosse team. He was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in West Grove.

He enjoyed weight lifting, computers, playing video games, classic rock and all Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Philadelphia Flyers.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Sarah B. McGlinchey and Molly P. McGlinchey, both of Lincoln University; his maternal grandparents, Joseph L. and Rita McFate Feingold of Swarthmore; his paternal grandmother, Mae T. McGlinchey of Lafayette Hill; and many aunts, uncles and cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by one sister, Emily S. McGlinchey; and his paternal grandfather, John E. McGlinchey Sr.

You are invited to visit with John’s family and friends from 9 to 12 p.m. on Friday morning, Oct. 23, at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 300 State Road, West Grove, PA. His funeral Mass will follow at 12 noon. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Route 82, Kennett Square, PA.
